THE HOLY FIRE

The holy fire is a special monthly event for the new moons and evening before the holy seasons of Yah. On new moons (months) according to the Torah we are commanded to make a sacrifice (Nu:28:11: "And in the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the LORD; two young bullocks, and one ram, seven lambs of the first year without spot; Nu:28:12: And three tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one bullock; and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one ram; Nu:28:13: And a several tenth deal of flour mingled with oil for a meat offering unto one lamb; for a burnt offering of a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD. Nu:28:14: And their drink offerings shall be half an hin of wine unto a bullock, and the third part of an hin unto a ram, and a fourth part of an hin unto a lamb: this is the burnt offering of every month throughout the months of the year.") Also on this day as a protection to us it is commanded in that we slap the cymbals as a protection from enemies (Nu:10:9: And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies. Nu:10:10: Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.)

The keeping of the holy fire remained existing in members of our organization Native American heritage where the it is said that seven special woods should be used for the fire only (comparable to those used at Succoth- Le:23:40: "And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days."; Ne:8:15: "And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written."). However, the deeper history of the fire according to the book of Jubilee states in 21:12-15 "And as regards the wood of the sacrifices, on no account use any other kinds of wood apart from these - cypress, bay, almond, fir, pine, cedar, savin, fig, olive, myrrh, laurel, aspalathus. And of these kinds of wood place under the sacrifice on the altar only such pieces as have been inspected first; and do not use any wood that is split or spotted, but ony what is hard and clean, without any spots, and of recent growth - no old wood, for old wood has lost its fragrance, and there is no fragrance in it as there once was. Besides these there are no other kinds of wood you should put on the altar, for their smell is not pleasant (and their smell ascends to heaven). Observe this commandment and carry it out, my son, that you may be upright in everything you do." And in the Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs: 9:12 "Use only wood from the twelve trees that always have leaves to present your offerings to the Lord by fire, as indeed Abraham taught me."

In respect to Yah, the wood incense offering unto Yah are done on the evening before we go unto the house of Yahweh for offerings of milk (fat) and tithes on the actual holy days. Ex:20:24: "An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee."; De:14:23: "And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always."
